Lone Star Behavioral Hospital does not discriminate based on the basis of age, disability, race, color, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender identification. Lone Star Behavioral Health complies with Federal Civil Rights laws.

A complaint/grievance must be in writing, containing:
o Name and address of the person filing it;
o Problem or action alleged to be discriminatory; and
o Remedy or relief sought.

 

Communication with persons with hearing or vision disabilities

Lone Star Behavioral Health (LSBH) will take appropriate steps to ensure that persons with disabilities, including persons who are deaf, hard of hearing, or blind, or who have other sensory or manual impairments, have an equal opportunity to participate in our services, activities, programs and other benefits. The procedures outlined below are intended to ensure effective communication with patients/clients involving their medical conditions, treatment, services and benefits.

The procedures also apply to, among other types of communication, communication of information contained in important documents, including consent to treatment forms, financial and insurance benefits forms, etc.

All necessary auxiliary aids and services shall be provided without cost to the person being served. Staff that may have direct contact with individuals with disabilities will be provided with written notice of this policy and procedure.

Provisions of Auxiliary Aids and Services:

  • Provides free aids and services to people with disabilities to communicate effectively with us, such as:
    Qualified sign language interpreters
    Written information in other formats (large print, audio, accessible electronic formats, other formats)
  • Provides free language services to people whose primary language is not English, such as:
    Qualified interpreters
    Information written in other languages
  • LSBH utilizes relay services for external telephone with TTY users. We accept and make
    calls through a relay service. The state relay service number is 7-1-1 or 800-735-2988.
