Equine Assisted Therapy conducted by our trained Equine Therapists. Weather permitting.
Transportation
If needed, we can provide transportation to and from our facility within radius.

Our outpatient facility hosts both IOP and PHP programs six days a week on our 168-acre campus. Here you will engage in group and individual sessions going over topics to help you overcome the current challenges you are facing while building a community of those like you. Nestled in the forest in Tomball, Texas – this location offers the perfect daytime escape so you can focus on your treatment.

Frequently asked questions
WHAT WILL I BE DOING AT THE LONE STAR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH OUTPATIENT FACILITY?
During your treatment you will attend four group therapy sessions a day that cover a variety of topics including: coping skills, emotional regulation, psycho-education on mental illness, anger management, substance abuse, and more. You will also have the opportunity to engage in our Equine Assisted Therapy program as well as music and art therapy.
You will be assigned a group based on your needs and from there you will begin your treatment and relationships with your other group members. Each group has a home therapist to help assist you during your treatment. You will have individual sessions with your home therapist as needed.
You will also be interacting with our psychiatric nurse practitioners to help monitor symptoms as well as your medication.
WHAT SHOULD/CAN I BRING WITH ME?
Lone Star Behavioral Health will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items, so please bring items from home at your discretion. Items should be brought either in a small purse or bag, or a clear backpack.
Dress Guidelines:
Please be mindful of content that may be displayed on clothing items. We ask that you wear shoes that are closed toe, preferably no flip-flops. Closed toe shoes are required to participate in Equine Therapy. If you do not have any, some will be provided for you during the session.
PERSONAL DEVICES
You may bring your personal devices with you but ask for them to be turned off during sessions to not disrupt your peers.
MISC. ITEMS
Book, Bible and journal are allowed. We recommend bringing a notebook and a pen or pencil to take notes in during your sessions.
FOOD AND DRINK
Snack and lunch will be provided each day during your treatment. Water will be provided and there will be soda machines available to purchase. If you have a special diet – please contact our front office and will do our best to accommodate your needs. You may also bring lunch/snacks from home as well.
WHAT INSURANCE IS ACCEPTED?
We accept all major insurances and continue to expand our network of insurance providers.
Lone Star Behavioral Health also accepts Medicare and Medicaid.

We ask that you call (281) 351-6644 to schedule your intake session.
Are you a rehab facility?
We are not a rehab facility, but our outpatient program offers select sessions to be conducted by our licensed LCDC going over recovery topics and prevention.
How long will my treatment be?
Lone Star Behavioral Health offers customizable treatment, therefore, no two treatment plans will look the same. Treatment length varies person to person.
AM I ALLOWED TO SMOKE CIGARETTES?
Yes, you are allowed to smoke cigarettes and/or vape. Lone Star Behavioral Health will not provide cigarettes and we ask our program attendees to not ask for cigarettes from other clients.
There will be designated 20-minute break times in between each session.
Absolutely no THC vape pens of any kind are permitted on campus.
Per state law, no one under the age of 21 will be permitted to smoke cigarettes.
CAN I BRING MY OWN MEDICATIONS?
Medications brought from home will be reviewed by the nursing staff, documented and then kept safely at our nurses station.
DOES LONE STAR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROVIDE LUNCH?
Yes, Lone Star Behavioral Health provides lunch and snack. Water and soda vending machines are available. If you require a special diet, please contact our front office so we can accommodate you the best we can. You may always bring food from home if needed.

Your experience begins at Cadwalder Campus’s White House. Named in honor of Drs. Roger and Kathy Cadwalder who greatly influenced our beginning.
Step 1 | Admission
Here, we will review and ensure we have all the necessary information.
Please bring a medication list, treatment history, and any discharge paperwork if applicable.
Please be sure to call ahead so we can prepare to assist you.
Step 2 | Intake
Our team of professionals will meet with you for extensive medical and psychiatric evaluations to help determine your needs. This will be followed by a specific treatment plan for your recovery.
Step 3 | Find Your Group
The treatment team will assign groups suited to your needs and according to your plan. You will see a psychiatric practitioner twice per week, with general medical care offered as needed.
Step 4 | Recover, Heal, & Grow
This is where we execute your plan. Working closely with you individually and in group, we set goals and monitor your growth and help you utilize the skills you are learning during your treatment.

IS OUTPATIENT RIGHT FOR ME?
If the following descriptions describe your circumstance, rest assured that you can find help at our outpatient care center.
- The nature of my illness is primarily psychiatric, as the result of addiction or other factors.
- I am seeking further treatment such as therapy & counseling to aid in my recovery process.
- My condition is moderate to severe, & I am seeking hands-on support to aid in my treatment.
In the case of addiction, we encourage you to call us so we can understand more of your circumstance and direct you accordingly.
We traditionally work with those who have already received a diagnosis. In the case that you have not yet received a diagnosis, please reach so we can get a better understanding of what treatment you are needing.
